The NLIU – Khaitan & Co. Certificate Course on Corporate Laws is held in collaboration with one of India’s leading law firms, Khaitan & Co. The course has had nine editions as of 2026 which is a testament to the Centre’s long-standing association with the firm. It provides participants with a comprehensive overview of the Mergers and Acquisitions practice and gives them a more detailed perspective of the same.
The course spans across two days with about six sessions and discusses deal structures and the typical lifespan of a deal. A unique aspect of the course that makes it stand out from the rest is the negotiation exercise carried out towards the end of the course. The exercise is based on a draft agreement and focuses on real-world negotiations in Mergers and Acquisitions practice. Students who participate particularly well in the course are rewarded with internships in the firm.
The 9th edition of the course was held from the 16-19th January 2026. The three-day programme was designed to provide participants with a strong practical understanding of corporate law, from due diligence, mergers and acquisitions and term sheets to negotiation.
The course was graced by distinguished legal professionals from Khaitan & Co., including Mr. Ashish Razdan (Partner, Khaitan and Co.), Mr. Vineet Shingal (Partner, Khaitan and Co.) and Mr. Vivek Badkur (Associate, Khaitan and Co.). Their expertise, clarity and practical insights greatly enriched the discussions and learning experience throughout the programme.
