The CBCL Blog is run by the Centre for Business and Commercial Laws (CBCL), which was established in 2008 at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) as a ‘Centre of Excellence’, with the aim of generating awareness and facilitating research in the field of business and commercial laws.

We invite submissions from students and practitioners on issues relevant to the areas of corporate law, securities law, insolvency law, banking law, capital markets and securities law, arbitration law, competition law and taxation law.


Arshia is a fifth-year student at National Law Institute University, Bhopal. Her interest areas include corporate law and blockchain technologies. She is part of the Alternative Dispute Resolution cell and PULER – a student-run initiative for teaching underprivileged kids. She likes to read and is also a huge fan of Friends and Game of Thrones. She will be joining the general corporate team at Khaitan & Co, New Delhi in 2019.


Rohan is a fifth-year student at National Law Institute University, Bhopal. His interest areas include securities law and corporate law, in particular, M&A and PE/VC. He is also a part of the NLIU Law Review. He is an avid reader, considers himself a foodie, and runs marathons on his off days. He will be joining the M&A team at Trilegal, Gurgaon in 2019.


Akshita is a fourth-year student at National Law Institute University, Bhopal. She has an avid interest in the field of corporate law and securities law and has a number of publications to her credit. In her free time, she likes to play badminton and football.


Shounak is a fourth-year student at National Law Institute University, Bhopal.
